Vintage Soriana lounge chair by Afra & Tobia Scarpa for Cassina from the 1970s reupholstered in a beautiful new velvet fabric. The warm colour of the velvet is copper. The lounge chair is in a very good condition due to the new fabric. the chrome structure is also in a very good condition.
Initially released in 1969, the Soriana series is a characterful classic from the pantheon of modern furniture design. The Soriana won the prestigious Compasso d’Oro prize in 1970, confirming its status as a real masterpiece of mid-century furniture design, gifting the piece with a legacy that sees it celebrated by design lovers to this day.

Vintage Soriana fauteuil van Afra & Tobia Scarpa voor Cassina uit de jaren 70, opnieuw bekleed met een prachtige nieuwe fluwelen stof. De warme kleur van het fluweel is koper. De loungestoel verkeert in zeer goede staat dankzij de nieuwe stof. Ook de chromen structuur verkeert nog in een zeer goede staat.
De Soriana won in 1970 de prestigieuze Compasso d'Oro-prijs, waarmee zijn status als een waar meesterwerk van mid-century meubeldesign werd bevestigd. Het meubelstuk heeft een erfenis gekregen die tot op de dag van vandaag door designliefhebbers wordt gevierd.
